. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Led by Ron Fairly, who drove in two runs with a homer and single, the Expos defeated the Cubs, 3-1. After Fairly's homer in the seventh tied the score at 1-1, a double by Ron Swoboda, sacrifice by John Bateman and single by Coco Laboy added the go-ahead tally. Fairly's single produced an insurance run in the eighth after a single by Boots Day and pass to Ron Hunt. [The Sporting News]
