Rich Hand, who had been on the disabled list, made his first appearance of the season, pitching in relief, and got a rough reception when the Angels scored four runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Indians, 5-2. Hand retired the first two batters, but then Roger Repoz homered to break a 1-1 tie. Ken McMullen and John Stephenson followed with singles and both scored on a triple by Syd O'Brien, who also crossed the plate on a single by Rudy May. [The Sporting News]
