The Mets beat Wade Blasingame for the first time in the lefthander's career when Bud Harrelson drove in two runs with a two-out single in the seventh inning to produce a 2-1 victory over the Astros. Blasingame, who went into the game with a 9-0 record against the Mets, allowed only three hits until Jerry Grote doubled with one out in the seventh and Don Hahn beat out an infield hit.

Tommie Agee grounded out, Grote holding third, but Hahn advanced to second on the play. Both baserunners then scored when Harrelson rapped his single. [The Sporting News]
