Duane Josephson and Carl Yastrzemski each hit a homer with a man on base, but the Red Sox also needed an unearned run to defeat the Twins, 5-4. Josephson connected in the second inning and after Yastrzemski followed suit in the sixth, Rico Petrocelli singled, advanced to third on a pair of infield outs and scored what proved to be the deciding run when Rick Renick fumbled a grounder by Josephson.
