A six-run explosion in the second inning carried the Giants to a 7-2 victory in a sweep of their three-game series with the Reds. Two walks around a single by George Foster loaded the bases. One run scored on a single by Tito Fuentes and two counted on a double by Hal Lanier. An error by Tony Perez, an infield out by Frank Johnson and sacrifice fly by Ken Henderson added the other tallies.
