Facing his former teammates for the first time, Denny McLain pitched the Senators to a 3-2 victory over the Tigers. McLain had a 2-0 lead going into the ninth inning, but the Tigers then erupted to tie the score on a single by Ike Brown with the bases loaded. In the Senators' half, Toby Harrah doubled, took third on an infield out and scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly by Paul Casanova. [The Sporting News]
