Winning his own game, Fergie Jenkins smashed a two-run homer in the fourth inning to provide the Cubs with a 6-4 victory over the Padres. Billy Williams hit the 300th homer of his career with the Cubs in the first. Jenkins' drive broke a 3-3 tie and the Cubs added another run on a double by Randy Hundley in the sixth.
