The Dodgers rallied for three runs in the eighth inning and added three more in the ninth to defeat the Giants, 9-6. Bobby Bonds homered with two men on base in the sixth to send the Giants out in front, 5-3, but Dick Allen walked in the Dodgers' eighth and Wes Parker homered to tie the score. After a single by Tom Haller and pass to Jim Lefebvre, an error by Chris Speier on an attempted double play allowed Haller to score.

In the ninth, the Dodgers loaded the bases on a double by Willie Davis and two walks, paving the way for runs on a single by Haller, pass to Manny Mota and single by Maury Wills. [The Sporting News]
