After wiping out a 7-1 deficit, the Cubs came from behind again with a two-run homer by Jim Hickman in the 10th inning to beat the Padres, 9-8, in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader. The second game was stopped by darkness after six innings, with the Cubs leading, 6-3, and was completed August 4 on the Padres' next visit to Chicago. [The Sporting News]
