Homers by John Lowenstein and Ken Harrelson, before Lowenstein was hurt in a collision, helped the Indians defeat the Senators, 6-3. Lowenstein led off the third inning with his round-tripper and, after a walk to Graig Nettles, Harrelson also hit for the circuit.

In fourth, Lowenstein, Vada Pinson and Jack Heidemann slammed together chasing a pop fly by Tommy McCraw into shallow left field. As the three Indians lay stunned, McCraw circled the bases for an inside-the-park homer. [The Sporting News]
