Roberto Clemente, who homered in the eighth inning, came to bat again with two men on base and two out in the ninth and tripled to climax the Pirates' rallies in a 6-5 victory over the Expos. Bob Bailey drove in four runs with a homer and single to pace the Expos to a 5-0 lead before the Pirates counted twice in the third.

Clemente and Bob Robertson homered in the eighth to pull the Pirates within one run. Then in the ninth Gene Alley and Dave Cash were on base with singles when Clemente crashed his triple off the center field wall. [The Sporting News]
