For the second night in succession, Mike Marshall failed in relief in the ninth inning and was the loser when the Pirates edged the Expos, 3-2. Marshall walked Gene Alley with one away and, after Bill Mazeroski grounded out, advancing the runner, Dave Cash lined a game-winning single.
