. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Although each club hit three homers, the Braves' blows were more productive, accounting for six runs, and resulted in an 8-6 victory over the Mets. Hank Aaron homered with a man on base in the first inning. Ralph Garr led off the third with a solo swat and, after Aaron singled and Orlando Cepeda walked, Clete Boyer also hit for the circuit.

The Braves added what proved to be their winning margin in the sixth when Marty Perez tripled one run home and scored himself on a sacrifice fly by Mike Lum. The Mets had two homers by Bob Aspromonte and one by Tommie Agee, but all came with the bases empty. [The Sporting News]
