Sonny Siebert gained his seventh straight victory when the Red Sox broke away with five runs in the seventh and eighth innings to defeat the Yankees, 7-2. Siebert singled in the seventh and Reggie Smith homered to break a 2-2 tie. The Red Sox clinched the decision with three runs in the eighth, one on a homer by Billy Conigliaro and two on a double by Luis Aparicio. [The Sporting News]
