John Boccabella led off the 14th inning with a homer to give the Expos a 4-3 victory over the Braves. Steve Renko, the Expos' starting pitcher, hit for the circuit in the sixth to help himself to a 3-2 lead, but the Braves tied the score in their half when Ralph Garr doubled and Clete Boyer singled.

In the 14th, Boccabella was the first batter to face Ron Herbel, who relieved as the Braves' third pitcher of the game. Mike Marshall was the winner, pitching the last six innings in relief of Renko. [The Sporting News]
