The Mets, who rallied to tie the score with two runs in the ninth inning and again with one run in the 10th, finally defeated the Braves, 8-7, when Tim Foli singled in the 11th, stole second and scored on a two-out single by Donn Clendenon. Orlando Cepeda batted in two runs with a bases-loaded single and Clete Boyer added another run with a single to give the Braves a 6-4 lead in the ninth.

But the Mets pulled even on a walk, a double by Ed Kranepool, infield out and single by Bud Harrelson. The Braves went ahead again in the 10th on a sacrifice fly by Felix Millan, only to have the Mets rally with singles by Clendenon, Cleon Jones and Ken Boswell. [The Sporting News]
