. . . where the 1970s live forever!
The Cubs continued to enjoy the success at the expense of Don Sutton by defeating the Dodgers' righthander, 5-2. The victory was the Cubs' 14th over Sutton in 16 decisions for his career.

The Cubs used singles by Brock Davis, Milt Pappas and Glenn Beckert for a run in the first inning and then put together five hits, including a double by Davis, and two sacrifice flies for their other tallies in the fifth. One hit was of the infield variety by Pappas and another was a safe bunt by Don Kessinger. [The Sporting News]
