After rallying to tie the game with two out in the ninth inning, the Phillies scored again on a single by Larry Bowa in the 12th to defeat the Mets, 3-2. In the ninth, Tony Taylor singled, Willie Montanez tripled and Deron Johnson singled to save the Phils from defeat.

Tim McCarver doubled in the 12th and scored on a two-out single by Bowa, who made up for his 12th-inning error in the previous night's game that enabled the Mets to defeat the Phillies, 5-4. [The Sporting News]
