Bobby Murcer and John Ellis drove in two runs apiece, including one each in the sixth inning when the Yankees scored four times to defeat the Angels, 7-4. With the Angels leading, 3-2, Horace Clarke opened the sixth with a single and Thurman Munson walked.

Roy White singled to tie the score and Murcer singled to send the Yankees ahead. Ellis doubled, scoring White, and Murcer came home with the fourth run of the frame on an error. [The Sporting News]
