Clyde Wright batted in what proved to be the winning run, allowed only four hits and pitched the Angels to a 2-1 victory over the Senators in a game stopped by rain after 7 1/3 innings. Wright got off to a bad start, letting the first three Senators' batters reach base, but the southpaw pitched out of that jam at the expense of only one run. The Angels came back with their runs in the second on successive singles by Tony Conigliaro, John Stephenson, Sandy Alomar and Wright.
