Ernie Banks belted a three-run homer in the first game and Billy Williams whacked a duplicate blow in the second game to carry the Cubs to a sweep of a twi-night doubleheader with the Reds, 6-3 and 4-1. Banks got into the opener only because Jim Hickman was hit above the left elbow by a pitched ball in the first inning. Mr. Cub clouted his homer in the seventh, smashing a 2-2 tie. Likewise, Williams cracked a 1-1 tie in the nightcap with his round-tripper in the eighth inning. [The Sporting News]
