Three unearned runs in the third inning enabled the Indians to defeat the Brewers, 4-2. Graig Nettles was safe on an error by Rich Auerbach to start the stanza and scored the first run on a single by Vada Pinson and forceout by Ray Fosse.

Chris Chambliss doubled, Fosse stopping at third. When Danny Walton dropped a fly by Ted Uhlaender, Fosse scored. Ted Ford then singled to plate Chambliss with the third run. [The Sporting News]
