. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Dodgers scored five runs on seven hits in the third inning and coasted to a 7-1 victory over the Expos. Maury Wills, Willie Crawford and Willie Davis singled, Dick Allen doubled and Jim Lefebvre, Tom Haller and Bobby Valentine singled, representing the most hits by the Dodgers in any inning so far this season. Lefebvre and Haller homered in the eighth, marking the first time this year that the Dodgers had come up with back-to-back blows.

Bill Singer, who started the game, pulled a muscle and had to quit the mound after three innings. Bob O'Brien relieved and gained credit for his first major league victory. [The Sporting News]
