Rookie righthander Charlie Williams pitched five shutout innings of relief and received credit for his first major league victory when the Mets beat the Giants, 5-2. Marichal, who had been undefeated since April 25, was stopped on his five-game winning streak by the Mets, who tagged the Giants' ace for nine hits and all their runs. [The Sporting News]
