. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Jim Brewer struck out four of six batters in the last two innings after relieving Bill Singer to safeguard the Dodgers' 4-2 victory over the Phillies. The Dodgers used singles by Tom Haller and Maury Wills, around a sacrifice by Singer, for a run in the fifth inning and added two more in the sixth when Dick Allen walked and Jim Lefebvre homered.

Willie Montanez hit a two-run homer in the Phillies' half, but the Dodgers pulled away when Manny Mota, batting for Singer, walked with the bases loaded in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
