The Cardinals again rallied for four runs to tie the score, as they did in the previous night's game, but this time they lost to the Braves in 10 innings, 8-7. Hank Aaron, Orlando Cepeda and Earl Williams smashed homers for the Braves to build up a 7-3 lead before the Cardinals pulled even in the eighth.

However, in the 10th, Williams led off with a double. A sacrifice bunt by Zoilo Versalles moved pinch-runner Sonny Jackson to third. After an intentional pass to Mike Lum, Darrell Evans hit a deep fly to left-center field and Jackson scored after the catch. [The Sporting News]
