. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Entering the ranks of 10-game winners, Fergie Jenkins pitched the Cubs to a 3-1 victory over the Pirates. The Cubs counted twice in the second inning on a pass to Paul Popovich, triple by Brock Davis and sacrifice fly by Jenkins.

A walk to Ron Santo and singles by Popovich and Davis added the other run in the sixth. Willie Stargell hit his 20th homer of the season for the Pirates. [The Sporting News]
