With their power gone in a slump, the Giants managed only one hit off Steve Renko and lost to the Expos, 4-0, for their seventh defeat in the last eight games. Dick Dietz singled in the second inning for the Giants' safety off Renko, who posted the first shutout to the credit of the Expos' staff this season.
