Homers by Boog Powell, Elrod Hendricks and Don Buford accounted for seven runs and powered the Orioles to an 8-5 victory over the White Sox. Powell connected with a man on base in the third inning.

Hendricks and Buford belted their homers for five runs in the sixth. Hendricks' blow followed a pass to Brooks Robinson. Then, after a walk to Davey Johnson and single by Mark Belanger, Buford hit for the circuit. [The Sporting News]
