Dick Allen, Wes Parker, Maury Wills and Willie Davis each drove in two runs in the second inning when the Dodgers exploded against Jim Britton to wallop the Expos, 12-1. Allen and Parker ignited the outburst with homers off Britton, who was making his first major league start since May 1, 1969.

Allen hit a sacrifice fly and Parker singled for their second RBIs of the stanza. Wills and Davis drove in their runs with singles. Allen homered again with a man on base in the seventh. Rusty Staub saved the Expos from being shutout by connecting for the circuit in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
