The perfect relief pitching of John Morris, who retired 14 straight batters in the last 4 2/3 innings, made it possible for the Brewers to defeat the Indians, 4-2, snapping an eight-game losing streak. Dave May, who led the Brewers at bat with four hits, drove in their first two runs with a bases-loaded single in the second.

Tommy Harper doubled in the fifth and scored on a single by May for his third RBI. After a sacrifice, May also crossed the plate when Frank Tepedino singled. Morris earned credit for his first victory of the season. [The Sporting News]
