Al Oliver smashed a tie with a two-out homer in the ninth inning to give the Pirates a 4-3 victory over the Cardinals. Willie Stargell doubled in two runs for the Pirates in the third and scored himself on a single by Bob Robertson, but the Cards pulled even before Oliver's homer pinned the loss on Rudy Arroyo.
