. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The slugging of Willie Horton, who drove in five runs with a homer, double and single, paced the Tigers' 16-hit attack in a 9-5 victory over the Twins. Les Cain, who started for the Tigers, was forced to quit the mound because of a sore shoulder after retiring Cesar Tovar and walking Rod Carew in the first inning. Dean Chance, in relief, pitched the next 4 2/3 innings and received credit for the victory. [The Sporting News]
