The Braves took advantage of an error by Ken Holtzman and scored five unearned runs to defeat the Cubs, 6-5. After Zoilo Versalles and Mike Lum singled, Holtzman bobbled a bunt by Bob Didier. Jim Nash went out, but Felix Millan scored Versalles with a sacrifice fly. Sonny Jackson singled to drive in Lum.

Hank Aaron followed with a two-run double and then scored himself on a double by Orlando Cepeda. The Braves' only earned run of the game proved a winner in the seventh when Jackson tripled and Aaron singled. [The Sporting News]
