A sacrifice fly by Ed Brinkman and squeeze bunt by Aurelio Rodriguez produced two runs in the eighth inning and accounted for the Tigers' 6-5 victory over the White Sox. A walk to Norm Cash and infield hits by Gates Brown and Jim Northrup loaded the bases. Brinkman's fly tied the score at 5-5.
