Thanks to a homer by Roberto Clemente, Dock Ellis gained his 10th victory of the season when the Pirates defeated the Astros, 6-4. Gene Clines, who played in place of Willie Stargell and collected four hits, singled in the seventh inning and Clemente followed with his homer to break a 4-4 tie.
