Capitalizing on an error by Al Gallagher, the Phillies scored four unearned runs in the second inning and defeated the Giants, 6-3. After a single by John Vukovich and pass to Denny Doyle, two were out when Terry Harmon grounded to Gallagher, who threw wildly, allowing two runs to cross the plate.
