Playing before a Helmet Day crowd of 52,171, the Mets came from behind twice and then beat the Phillies, 6-5, when Donn Clendenon smashed a homer with two out in the 15th inning. The Mets trailed, 4-1, before rallying to tie the score in the sixth. The Phillies took the lead again with an unearned run in the 14th, but Ken Singleton homered in the Mets' half to keep the game going long enough for Clendenon to win it. [The Sporting News]
