The Orioles pounded Denny McLain for 16 hits in eight innings, including four apiece by Boog Powell and Paul Blair, to defeat the Senators, 7-2. Powell and Frank Robinson, who had two hits, each drove in three runs. The loss was the eighth in succession for McLain and his 13th of the season against only four victories. [The Sporting News]
