Danny Frisella relieved in the ninth inning and saved a victory for Charlie Williams as the Mets defeated the Pirates, 3-2. Williams was working on a three-hit shutout and retired the first two batters in the ninth before the Pirates erupted to score their runs on a single by Roberto Clemente, double by Willie Stargell and single by Al Oliver.
