Ending his personal five-game losing streak. Bill Parsons pitched the Brewers to a 6-0 victory in the opener of a doubleheader, but the Angels brought Eddie Fisher out of the bullpen for his first start of the season and won the nightcap, 9-5. Parsons' shutout was his third of the year. The Brewers decided the outcome with three runs in the third inning on a walk, double by Johnny Briggs, triple by Roberto Pena and double by Phil Roof.
