The Padres smashed their seven-game losing streak by defeating the Astros, 3-2 and 4-3. The first game was decided in the 12th inning when Enzo Hernandez singled, Bob Miller sacrificed and Tommy Dean singled for only his third hit of the season.

Angel Bravo, who drove in a run with a pinch-double in the eighth inning to tie the opener at 2-2, came through again with a pinch-double in the nightcap to plate the winning run in the ninth inning. Miller was the winner of both games in relief. [The Sporting News]
