Homers by Johnny Briggs and Tommy Harper carried the Brewers to a 3-1 victory over the Twins. Briggs connected for the circuit in the second inning. The Twins tied the score in the seventh on singles by George Mitterwald and Cesar Tovar and a grounder by Rod Carew. The Brewers then gained their winning margin in the eighth when Ted Kubiak walked and Harper hit his homer. [The Sporting News]
