Ron Bryant continued to defy the Giants' jinx in the Astrodome and combined with Steve Hamilton to beat the Astros, 3-1, before 35,025, the largest crowd of the year in Houston. Bryant, who provided his own winning margin with a single in the fourth inning, now had credit for both of the Giants' victories in the Astrodome this season and four of their five victories under the dome over the last three years.

Bobby Bonds started the Giants' scoring with a homer in the fourth. After two out, a single by Ed Goodson, double by Bernie Williams and intentional pass to Hal Lanier loaded the bases and Bryant then rapped his single to drive in two runs. [The Sporting News]
