. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Angels shattered the six-game winning streak of the White Sox by sweeping a doubleheader, 2-1 and 12-3. Billy Cowan, playing in place of the suspended Alex Johnson, doubled home two runs in the fifth inning to give the Angels their victory in the opener.

The Angels settled the issue in the nightcap by erupting for seven runs in the sixth inning, three scoring on a homer by Roger Repoz. Rickey Clark was the beneficiary, gaining his first major league victory since 1968. [The Sporting News]
