. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Completing a sweep of the three-game series, Fergie Jenkins pitched the Cubs to a 4-1 victory over the Cardinals. Jenkins also scored the Cubs' first run, hitting a double in the third inning and crossing the plate on singles by Glenn Beckert and Billy Williams. Jim Hickman homered in the fourth and Don Kessinger knocked in two runs with a bases-loaded single in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
