An unearned run that followed a hotly contested ruling enabled the Twins to win the first game of a doubleheader, 2-1, but the Brewers exploded for six runs in the sixth inning to take an 8-5 decision in the second game. In the opener, Brant Alyea singled for the Twins in the sixth and gave way to Jim Holt as pinch-runner. After being caught in a rundown, Holt was awarded second base by the umpires, who ruled interference on the part of Ted Kubiak. Leo Cardenas singled with two out to drive in Holt with the winning run.
