. . . where the 1970s live forever!
The Astros built up an early lead in the first game and then came from behind in the second game to beat the Braves in a twi-night doubleheader, 6-5 and 6-4. The Astros started the lidlifter with a pair in the first inning and followed with four runs in the third. Jim Wynn walked and scored on singles by Denis Menke and Doug Rader. Jack Hiatt doubled to plate Menke and when Ralph Garr fumbled the ball in the outfield, Rader also scored. Marty Martinez then singled to drive in what proved to be the winning run.

In the nightcap, Cesar Cedeno led the Astros at bat with a homer, triple and single, driving in three runs. The Astros wiped out a 4-3 deficit with three runs in the seventh inning. Rich Chiles walked and counted the tying tally on Cedeno's triple. Bob Watson sent the Astros ahead with a single and Menke added an insurance run with a double. [The Sporting News]
