Dave Campbell, who went into the game batting only .213, drove in three runs with a double off Juan Marichal in the fifth inning as the Padres defeated the Giants, 6-2. A double by Leron Lee and singles by Cito Gaston and Ed Spiezio gave the Padres one run before an error by Chris Speier loaded the bases. Clay Kirby forced Gaston at the plate and Enzo Hernandez popped up, but Campbell then hit his double to beat Marichal. [The Sporting News]
