Earl Williams broke a tie with a homer in the eighth inning to give the Braves a 3-2 victory over the Mets. Ron Reed, who pitched for the Braves, gave up 10 hits in the first five frames but then choked off the Mets completely, retiring the last 13 batters in succession. [The Sporting News]
